I attended Pitzer College where I acquired my bachelor's degree in economics. I have tutored for approximately three years now. The absolute most important aspect of tutoring is engaging my students and listening to them. While listening, I try to take note of how my students are interpreting the material they are being taught by me. Whether they are bored with the material or whether they are confused about the material, I will then adjust my approach to keep things interesting or go over material they may be unsure of. I believe this is a great characteristic of any tutor. To be able to interpret subtle signs of students is surely a great quality. I have experience tutoring students who are preparing for their SAT and ACT. With my assistance, many of them have done quite well on their exams. I also have spent time working with students to improve many of their written papers, including psychology papers and other creative writing tasks. I have worked with college aged students, high school students, and various age groups. Beyond my skill for teaching creative writing and helping with test preparations, I also have spent time tutoring college students in the subject of statistics and high school students in science, history, algebra, English, and geometry. Beyond that, I have professional experience as a reporting analyst and am proficient in using MS Office. Currently, I work as a freelance screenwriter and a tutor.
