Experience

I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies, and a minor in Education with a concentration in Technology, Math, and Science. I then went on to earn my Master of Teaching degree in Elementary Education PK-6. I grew up having struggles and issues in school. I am able to fully understand what a student who struggles goes through because I actually experienced it myself. I am well versed with students of all ages because of my job as a student teacher for different grade levels. I have developed strategies to help students understand the subject matter and how to arrive at the solution. I have been a tutor of math for K-8 students and also a mentor to an individual to establish improved work ethics and study habits. When I tutor, I like to correlate each lesson with the student's experiences and the subjects they are working on. The connection helps them to be interested and motivated to learn. I am a creative, positive person that uplifts the student, and this allows them to trust me and to open up to learn. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my brothers, reading a good book at the beach, and dancing at a class.
